The Right Honourable Ahmed Tijani Yusuf
Damisa who was appointed as the Committee Chairman of the House of
Representatives on Federal Capital Territory and ancillary matters yesterday
won the plum position apparently based on the trust he garnered from the
leadership of the RT. HON SPEAKER who knew and had worked with him in the last couple of
years.
He was one of the most visible supporters of Rt.
Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, but it was a reflection of the simplicity and trust
that many saw in him that he subsequently became one of the closest allies of both
Speaker and Dep. Speaker today. It was as such no surprise that Damisa was one
of the passionate driving forces of the Femi Gbajabiamila for Speaker campaign
period. Damisa’s support for Gbajabiamila was apparently driven by the trust
and confidence which the new speaker exhibited in his duties as leader of House
of representative in the 8th National Assembly.
As chairman of the House Committee
on Federal Capital Territory and ancillary matter, all important job of keeping
watch over the affairs of Federal Capital Territory Area Council (Administrative
and Political Structure) and Satellite Town Development Agency. “Also Provide a Legal Framework for
Regulation of the Employment and Working Conditions of the Area Councils Staff
with a view to Professionalizing the FCT Area Councils Service and for other Related
Matters
Damisa is fondly adored for not
once attracting scandal to himself. He was given that position of trust because
of his level of integrity and discipline.
