The Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. (Mall) Abdulrazaq Muhammad was on Thursday 18th July, 2019 at about 6:25pm ambushed by armed criminals in an assasination attempt along Itakpe-Eika road on his way back from Lokoja, the state capital. The armed criminals were successfully repelled by his security aides and the Council boss and his team escaped unhurt except for one of his aide who was hit by bullet during gun exchange with the criminals. He is currently in a stable condition and receiving treatment at the hospital.
The Council Administrator wish to humbly appreciates His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello for his supports and concern, top government officials, families, friends, royal fathers, supporters and the general public for their concern, prayers and good wishes. I remain grateful to Almighty Allah for His mercy over our lives and the gallantry display of the security aides.
The general public should remain calm and go about their normal lawful businesses without fear as the situation is already put under control. The government assured the people of her continue determination to wipe out criminals and criminalites out of our land and surely, we shall defeat them with our collective will. We won't be distracted, good will definitely thrive over evil, he said.
