SKILL ACQUISITION IS KEY TO NATION BUILDING-Prince Onyekehi

Vocational training and skill acquisition remains a critical segment of industrialisation of nations of the World, and Kogi State government is making a frantic efforts to creating enabling environment for special skills to thrive so that Youth can be trained to becoming self reliant and self employed.

This was the unanimous submission of the Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Special Projects and State Focal Person, National Social Investment programmes, Prince Abdulkareem Onyekehi Suleiman, when he paid an official visit to Nigerian-Korean Institute of Vocational And Advanced Technology, KOICA, at the State Polytechnic, on Wednesday, in Lokoja.

Prince Onyekehi, while interfacing with the beneficiaries of N-Build, an integral segment of N-Power programme, urged the students/beneficiaries at the center to make the best use of the opportunity given to them by the National Social Investment programmes. Assuring them that they can go places with the special skills they would acquired from this center.

The Special Adviser who was enthused with the state-of-the-art equipments at the Institute reiterated that the state government is fully determined to making the institute as a degree awarding institution in Nigeria. In his words "Governor Bello's led government is working with a focused commitments to attracting massive infrastructural development to the institute".

Prince Onyekehi, who was accompanied to the institute by some top management staff of the Kogi National Social investment programmes, thanked the management staff of the Institute for their warm reception accorded him and his team during the visit.
