We have told Kano State to bring someone but the majority of the NWC are in support of Doguwa. Governor Abdullahi Ganduje also is in support,” a source told our correspondent.
The NWC also cleared the member representing Akoko Edo, Ohiozojeh Akpatason, for the position of the Chief Whip while the Deputy Whip will come from the North East, according to the source.
Also at the meeting, the NWC confirmed a former governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, as Senate Leader.
Senator Ajayi Borrofice representing Ondo South emerged as Deputy Leader.
A former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Kalu, emerged as Chief Whip of the Senate while Senator Yahya Abdullahi from Kebbi State was ratified as the Deputy Senate Chief Whip.
