THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL BUREAU OF LANDS AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT VISITS NAVY SHIP COMMANDER SEEKS SYNERGY

 The Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Urban Development, Hon. Nazir Yusuf Ochi(CNA) alongside the management members of the Bureau paid a courtesy visit to the Commander Nigerian Navy Ship Lugard, Rear Admiral O.M Olotu at Banda, Kogi state.
 The Director-General stated that the essence of the visit is to build and maintain strong working relationship and also to seek for their unalloyed support and assistance especially in the area of providing security as they have always done. He added that this will give room for easy interaction between both organisation.

 The commander while responding, commended the Director-General for taking such step and assured the Bureau of their readiness to provide necessary assistance whenever they are called upon. He further emphasized that as a government agency, their primary objective is to secure lives and properties as such they are ready to cooperate with other government establishment to ensure security and maintain cordial relationship.
In addition, the Commander stated that one of their oldest unit in the Nigerian Navy known as Command Naval Drafting  was recently relocated from Lagos to Kogi to serve as a central location where all activities concerning records of the officers will be carried out; hence, this will give the organisation ample opportunities to expand in terms of property development for some officers that might want to acquire landed properties in the state.
  He however solicited the assistance of the Director-General to look into some of the pending issues of compensation for some part of the land where their base is situated.
 In another vein, the commander stated that they are planning to develop a 2000 housing estate in which people of the state can equally benefit from as well as a hotel which will purely serve a  commercial purpose in Kogi state so as to boost economic, social and physical development in the state. He added that to actualize their plans, there will be need to partner with the Bureau of Lands and Urban Development so as to facilitate acquisition of lands for the project.
 The Director- General while responding, stated that the Bureau has designed a template that will be used in resolving community issues that bothers on land and as such the issue of the  compensation will be looked into holistically to offer a beneficial solution to both parties.
 He further added that Bureau's door is open for Investments that will positively affects the state's revenue base.
 The Permanent Secretary Mr. O.A Alhassan,  commended the Command for always assisting the Bureau whenever the need arises and seek that such relationship should be maintained.
