Hon. Asuku Bello Begins Farming And Empowerment Training Programme For Constituents

The lawmaker representing Adavi/Okehi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. (Engr) Joseph Asuku Bello has began a 3-Day farming and empowerment training programme for over 400 constituents.

The training which commenced on Wednesday 2nd September through Friday 4th September 2020 is scheduled to impact participants with basic farming techniques as well as empowered them with (starter packs) on the 6th of September, 2020.

The training programme which was facilitated by Hon Asuku Bello and organized by the Industrial Arbitration Panel (IAP) - Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment through Planet Works and Bal Engineering Limited is expected to cover such aspects as fish farming, chicken farming, snail farming, piggery, rice farming, maize farming and amongst others.


Speaking at the commencement of the programme through his Constituency Aide Yahaya Ogidi, Hon. Asuku Bello noted that the importance of the training and empowerment programme cannot be overemphasized due to economic realities of the day and the need to explore the agricultural sector as means to reducing the rate of unemployment and diversifying the state and national economies.

He disclosed that his target is to make his constituents self-reliant and employers of labour, rather than job seekers, noting that many successful men and women all over the world had their roots in small-scale businesses, especially  agribusinesses.

The lawmaker urged them to take advantage of the programme to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and expertise to excel in farming business. 

Hon. Asuku Bello further implored all constituents shortlisted  for the programme to resume at the training centres early and be focused on their goals.

Concluding his address, Hon. Bello pleaded with his constituents and supporters who were not covered in this round of training to be patient and keep fate with him, as many of similar programmes will be facilitated by him to the constituency in line with the President Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello Administrations' policy to empower our people for self reliance and economic prosperity.
