The Chairman-Elect for Okene Local Government Council, Hon. Engr.Muhammad Yusuf AbdulRazak popularly called Ya-Muhammad has assured his constituents of robust and quality representation as he prepares to resume office. The Chairman-elect said he would dedicate his time in office serving for the interest and wellbeing of the people of Okene local government area council, ensuring the people get what rightfully belongs to them. His words: “Within my time at the executive chairman, I will ensure my people get what is legitimately theirs in the Kogi New Direction project” “My victory would not have been possible without your unwavering support, I thank all my teeming supporters and party faithful,” he stated. He specifically thanked the Kogi state governor, Alh.Yahaya Bello, Chairman of the All Progressive Party APC, Hon. Yakubu Gowon and members of his campaign team.
Ya Muhammad also expressed gratitude to all political leaders from Okene local government area council and a member of the House of Reps., Rt. Hon. Ahmed Tijani Yusuf Damisa, among other party stalwarts in the council for standing by him.
Describing the election as peaceful and transparent, the in-coming Executive chairman appealed to his opponents to sheath his “swords and join hands with me to take Okene Local Government Area Council to an enviable height” Ya Muhammad, candidate of APC in the December 12th, 2020 Okene Local government council election, polled 113, 210 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Alh. Momohjimoh Otinau of the People Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 1,482 votes.
