The beneficial youths were trained in Ebira Muslim Community College, EMCCO Okengwe by a group of resourceful experts that specialise in modern fish farming from Upper River Basin Development Authority in collaboration with Pure Diamond Consult Ltd.
The trainees were also presented with certificates of participation after the two-day training.
The Director-general Upper River Basin Development Authority, who was represented by Mr. Muhammad Abba Kura as supervisor, monitored the exercise, described it as the best way to reduce unemployment, create job and be self-reliant.
The Chairman House Committee on F.C.T and Ancillary Matters Hon. Ahmed~Tijani Yusuf Damisa through his personal aide, Hon. Adams Ibrahim Kadoka urged the trainees to justify the resources invested in them by capitalising maximally on the opportunities in fish farming business.
Damisa said the gestures were in fulfilment of his promise to roll out different training and empowerment programmes for the youths in his constituency .
“I can confidently assure that greater days are ahead for the people, especially the youths. But it is important to impress it on the trainees that they must justify the resources we have committed to this training as well as the financial empowerment.
This is just the only way we can be encouraged to do more for others”.
Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Olowola Taiye Bridget from Ogori /Magongo Local government thanked Damisa and assured they would take maximum advantage of the empowerment.
