REGARDLESS OF FGYB'S SHORTCOMINGS, HE REMAINS THE ONLY DETRIBALIZE GOVERNOR KOGI STATE HAS EVER HAD.
As a well-informed indigene of Kogi State born in the late 90s, I have a better understanding to compare and make a well-informed prognosis and pass an unbiased and fair judgement about the directions, and the manner the leaders at various times handled the confluence State.
I can authoritatively tell that the state development was stagnated by disunity, and ethnic rivalries which marked the era between 1999 and 2016 when providence smiled at Gov. Yahaya Bello and he was inaugurated as the fourth executive Governor of Kogi State.
Here are the deviations and differences he has made which formed part of his selling points in 2019 when he was re-elected and now that he's rooting for a better successor to the Lugard House.
• He made it a point of duty upon assumption of office to get rid of criminal elements operating in the state, and he successfully flushed them from towns and hideouts within his first year in office. Since then, our major become safer than ever before.
• Major infrastructural projects were executed across the three districts of the state. Top among these legacy projects is Custec Osara, Ganaja Flyover, Reference Hospital Okene, KSU Teaching Hospital Anyigba, Igala Unity House, Kogi Revenue Office, road rehabilitations and most recently the establishment of Kogi State University Kabba.
• FGYB relates with people irrespective of race, religion and every other difference. In doing these, he built capacities and gave opportunities to young Kogites to rise and contribute their quotas to the development of the State.
• FGYB administration is so unique in its ability to satisfy gender equality where an adequate proportion of political offices were ceded to women. I doubt if this has happened anywhere in the world.
• He becomes the first Kogi Governor to prove a strong presence in national politics by contesting for the Nation's top job (Presidency).
• Kogi has been projected to an enviable level under Former Yahaya Bello, far beyond where it was before the current APC administration came on board in 2016.
FGYB bathrobes Kogi State like a colossus and creates a new lease of life for the citizens of the State. We are happy that Gov. Ahmed Usman Ahmed Ododo to consolidated these meaningful achievements.
FGYB has been an inspiration to many generations, his golden heart, and the stardust of his soul are incomparable, his Philanthropic gesture is awesome, his zeal and quest to salvage this country are quite commendable and it has redefined him as an icon of nascent democracy most especially, for being a voice for the Youths, women, less privileged, orphans and people with special needs during your tenure.
He has been a great blessing to Kogi State and her citizenry, during your administrative acumen, security consciousness and developmental strides have placed Kogi State among the comity of States in Nigeria.
FGYB is not 100% perfect as a human. May God reward him and may he guide us.
