A case study of Nupe -Bassa Nge in Kogi.

Bassa Nge is often misconstrued as a language, but it's actually a settlement of Nupe-speaking people in Kogi State. Just like Yoruba land has different regions like Ijebu, Ibarapa, Egba, and Ogbomosho.

The word Bassa which is taken from Nupe word Ba'sa or Ba'age meaning a pleasant land suitable for settlement.

And to add more facts, there's a major town named Gboloko,a corrupt Nupe word for Boloko or Bologi 😁✍️.

While Nge is taken from Nupe word for exclamation expression statement mi'ga for nge 🤣
