Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Remember the Hand That Fed You, Power May Elevate You, But Gratitude Defines You — Prince Muhammed Otaiki
It is truly funny how some people quickly forget where they came from the moment they taste power. Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, the same man who was lifted and supported by Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON, has now turned against the very person who made him who he is today.
Let’s be honest if not for FGYB, who even knew Sunday Steve Karimi in the political space? His name only became relevant when Yahaya Bello believed in him, supported him, and stood by him to become a Senator.
Now, the same man who once begged for support is out there making noise and attacking his helper. But this is life give a small man power, and you will see his true colors.
People should know the truth, this betrayal from Sunday Steve Karimi is not surprising. Greed and pride have blinded him. The same mouth that used to praise Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is now the one speaking against him. But Kogites are not blind or foolish. We know who truly worked for the people and who is now shouting just to gain attention.
Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, stop pretending. You are not fighting for the people; you are fighting for your pocket. You can deceive those who don’t know your story, but those of us who watched your rise know the truth. When Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello lifted you up, you smiled. When he gave you wings, you flew. Now you think you can fly without the wind that carried you? Don’t worry, time will tell.
Our elders used to say, “A dog that forgets its owner will soon go hungry.” You have forgotten your helper, and greed has taken over your heart. But remember, God is watching. Kogites are wise; they won’t be fooled by your words.
Like Aneku Sementy once said, “Life is almost about to end; it has already been prepared, but we don’t know the final day yet.” So while you are busy chasing attention and talking against your benefactor, remember power fades, but truth stands forever.
Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON, made you who you are today. You can twist stories, but history cannot be changed. The people know the truth, and they will never forget.
May God help us all and save us from greedy people who bite the hands that fed them.
But it is not just me saying this. The seven local government chairmen from Kogi West Senatorial District have also spoken, and their words are loud and clear.
In a statement read by Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, the council leaders described Senator Karimi’s recent outburst as shameful and disappointing. They reminded him that he rose to prominence through the magnanimity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, yet he now turns around to attack the same ladder that lifted him.
“It is disappointing that someone who rose through the party’s goodwill would turn around to attack the same leaders who made him,” the chairmen said.
They urged APC members across Kogi, especially in Kogi West, to disregard Karimi’s comments, stressing that he does not speak for the people. They pointed out that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received massive support from Kogi West during the 2023 general elections, and the region continues to benefit immensely from his administration through political appointments and infrastructure development.
“The massive turnout at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre was not stage-managed,” they declared. “The crowd came out willingly to show love for President Tinubu. It is ironic for Senator Karimi, who has failed to deliver for his constituents, to attack a gathering that was clearly a show of solidarity.”
The chairmen further accused Karimi of having a habit of fighting his benefactors, noting that he has become politically disconnected from both his people and the realities in the Senate.
“It has become his pattern to bite the hand that feeds him,” they said. “He is only reacting out of frustration, knowing he has been rejected by his people.”
The council bosses reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC, President Tinubu, Governor Ododo, and the party’s leader in Kogi, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, pledging to sustain their support through 2031.
“Kogi West does not need to be bullied to support President Tinubu,” they concluded. “We stand firmly with the APC, with President Tinubu, with Governor Ododo, and with our leader, Alhaji Yahaya Bello. Our commitment remains total.”
In the end, the message is clear: gratitude defines true leadership. Senator Sunday Karimi may have forgotten where he came from, but the people of Kogi have not.
