UPDATE: LG Workers Hold Congress, Commend Council Administrator For Being Workers Friendly

The National Union of Local Government Emplyees (NULGE) in Local Government held a peaceful Congress yesterday 10th July, 2019 to discuss issue concerning the welfare of her members and update them on issues sorrounding the new NFIU guidlines, reports on Staff screening, payment of salaries among others.

The Chairman of NULGE, Okene Local Government branch, Comrade Ahmed Tijani who presided over the meeting took time to educate workers on modalities and processes involved in the full implementation of the financial guidelines saying, government is seriously working to ensure workers have an improve welfare package.

The union chairman said, members should be rest assured that their entitlements will be paid according to the available resources and enjoined them to shun rumours and avoid spreading unverified information which he said, sometime hatefully planted in the media to incite workers against the government. This is a moment of negotiation and transparency, therefore, we shall engage the government and ensure workers are not shortaged. While pleading workers to remain patient, the union leader assured them, that as soon as the processes are completed, the salaries will be paid.

They commended the Administrator of the Council, Engr. (Mall) Abdulrazaq Muhammad for providing enabling environment for workers, describing him as a peace loving and workers friendly Council leader who have demonstrated enough capacity to put smile in the faces of workers in the Local Government.
