The incumbent State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who is seeking for reelection is no doubt the best choice for the people of the State in the Governorship polls based on critical analysis made by the Media Group. In the areas of Security, Infrastructure, Health and Agriculture among others, the youthful Governor was scored high as he has succeeded in revolutionizing those sectors in accordance with the global best practices.
Today, across the three (3) Senatorial districts without any apology, the footprints of the development oriented Governor is felt based on the indices used globally to measure good governance. The glittering aspect of the projects executed by the Governor Bello led New Direction Administration is the utmost importance and viability of such projects to the host communities. Without mincing words, it's evident that apart from linking major towns and township with good roads, the Governor has ensured that a larger percentage of the communities in the Eastern and Western flank of the State are connected to electricity. Some of these communities were having electricity supply for the very first time.
In the Central Part of the State, the perennial scarcity of water has become a story of the past as most communities today enjoy potable water and more communities are being connected courtesy of the Okene Water Works resuscitation and the ongoing reticulation of Osara Dam. As for roads, Kogi Central no doubt is nearly completely linked with quality and accessible roads.
The Western Senatorial District among others has the Ejiba Rice mill. The establishment of such mega project around the area will no doubt bring out the usefulness and utilization of moribund Omi Dam located in Yagba area. Completed and about to be commissioned, the Ejiba Rice mill is expected to comfortably provide about at least five thousand (5,000) employment opportunities to the people of the State.
Above all, the Security feat achieved by the New Direction Government is enough to call for its continuity. Transforming a highly volatile and crime ridden State to a secured one where citizens could move about freely and as well safe for investors is a key achievement that would remain indelible in the annals of history of the Confluence State.
On the contrary, a vote for the opposition in the forthcoming Governorship election is a call for the return of maladministration, corruption, underdevelopment and insecurity. It amounts to waste of votes as the failed Parties who have long lost direction and outlived their usefulness lacks the capacity to contend with contemporary developmental issues.
Their incompetencies were further demonstrated during the controversial People Democratic Party primaries that produced a political neophyte as the flag bearer. What better result would you expect from such a gross miscalculated approach by the nose diving opposition.
