Gov Bello Receives Certificate Of Return

THE Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello alongside his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja on Thursday received their certificate of returning from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for winning the November 16 governorship election conducted by the Commission in Kogi state.
Presenting the certificate of return to the governor and his deputy Chief Edward Onoja, the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Kogi, Kwara and Nasarawa state, Mallam Mohammed Haruna, said the election has been conducted and the winner has emerged.

He called on the people of the state to chat ways for a new beginning in the interest of the state, appealing to other contestants who lost the election to join hands with the winner to move the state forward.
Speaking at the occasion, governor Yahaya Bello promised to work with the police to ensure that the perpetrators of electoral violence that led to the death of some people are bought to book to serve as a deterrent to others.
He appreciated kogites for the trust repose on him by voting him en-masse stressing that the mandate is for all kogites and promised to run an all-inclusive government.
Governor Bello also promised to work with Security agencies in the state to bring perpetrators of violence during and after the election to book as he condoles with the family of those that lost their lives during the election

The governor assured that his second term would witness tremendous dividend of democracy in the areas of infrastructure and human capital development.
He said that education, health, security and provision of basic social amenities at the rural areas would be prioritized.
He commended INEC and the security agents for the peaceful conduct of the election in Kogi state.
Governor Bello was declared the winner of the election on Monday by the returning officer of the election Professor Mohammed Umar the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) having scored 406,222 votes at the end of the election to defeat other 23 contestants
