The Executive Director, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflicts Resolution, Mr Idris Abdul, on Thursday urged political parties, their candidates and supporters to avoid mayhem during the November 16 governorship election in the state and the Kogi West senatorial election.
The major governorship candidates are the incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello (All Progressives Congress); Musa Wada (Peoples Democratic Party); and Mrs.Natasha Akpoti (Social Democratic Party).
The leading senatorial candidates are Senator Dino Melaye (PDP) and Senator Smart Adeyemi (APC).
Abdul, in a statement, also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to live up to its constitutional responsibilities by creating a level playing field for all stakeholders in the elections.
