Kogi Guber: PDP Alleges Plot To Shift Election

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, on Tuesday, raised an alarm over the alleged move by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the state government to ensure a shift in the governorship election by two weeks.
The party, however, appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to succumb to any attempt to blackmail or force it to shift the poll.

A statement by the deputy director of public communication of the PDP campaign council, Austin Okai, said the ruling party was planning a shift in the poll because of the public opinion and the general feeling in the state.
He said the APC believed that the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, would be beaten to the third position in the weekend election if INEC went ahead.
Okai notes that the feeling of Kogites is already divulged to the misgovernance administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello and has sent a jittery signal both to his supporters and sympathisers of the possibility of securing victory at the forthcoming polls.
The campaign council appealed to INEC not to concede to any unholy moves by the APC that would jeopardise the expectations of the people of the state against installing good governance by voting the PDP in the election.
He said the teeming supporters and voters across the state have travelled from far and near, to enable them to elect the candidate of their choice as the next governor of Kogi State and should not be disfranchised in the bid to return the governor.
The council said the moves if considered, would affect to a large extent, the outcome of the election.
PDP warned the state government to stop adjusting and extending their doomsday through unholy lobby and manipulations they are known for, as nothing would stop the people from voting it out of Lugard house
The PDP enjoined INEC to go ahead with the election billed for Saturday, to usher in a new administration into Kogi State
