Adavi Council Boss Holds a Meeting With Adavi Traditional Rulers

The Administrator of Adavi Local Government Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami held crucial meeting with the traditional Rulers in Adavi LG in a bid to intimate them on the directives of the State Government, as part of measures to checkmate security challenges across Kogi State. The Council Administrator however pronounced the following as resolutions arrived at at the meeting;

Firstly, no traditional rulers should on his own travel outside his domain during office hours, crossing to other states or down to Lokoja without due protocol, because that will attract penalties which also binds some political office holders.



Secondly, there are criteria for selecting traditional rulers which has recently gone wrong as people this days just go about calling themselves Royal fathers and dressed as royal Chiefs which is very wrong. The Government is strictly against it from now hence forth, its going to be announced over various Media Channels and expected to be abide by.

Thirdly, the Administrator has being mandated to inaugurate traditional tax force so as to arrest people parading themselves as Traditional rulers.

Fourthly no any traditional ruler has the right to inaugurate any district head or enthrone people as traditional title holder without the state government awareness.

In view of the above instructions, the Ohi of Adavi LG, *Alh (Dr) Muhammed I Bello* in his brief remarks said this meeting was for security reasons, a corrective measures by the State Government which must be strictly abide by the chiefdom to avoid government punishment.

The Ohi of Adavi also pointed out that it is very paramount that the Traditional rulers take permission before traveling for Security reasons, urged the Council of traditional rulers to read the Chieftaincy law in order to know the power with which one can operate, enjoined everyone to abide by the order from the State Government through the Council Administrator," he added.

Responding, Hon. Joseph further reaffirmed all the aforementioned resolutions, addressed other related issues, thanked the royal fathers for honouring his invitation, sternly lay more emphasis on the need for absolute adherence to the instruction of the State Government, added that whoever is found wanting would be made to face the wrath of the law, as he finally enjoined them to have a copy of Chieftaincy law to guide their conducts," he remarked
