I’ll help Osimhen settle at Napoli – Mertens

Napoli striker Dries Mertens says he will help new strikers Victor Osimhen and Andrea Petagna settle at the club next season.
The PUNCH had earlier reported that Osimhen sealed a move to Napoli from French Ligue 1 side Lille.

The deal, which is worth €70m, could rise to €80m after a number of performance-related add-ons.

In an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the 33-year-old striker said his future in the team was to help young players settle.
I want to help the team and the young people, that’s my future. I want to help Osimhen and Petagna, we can play together.
“It’s difficult to come from another country and settle in, we must help them fit in here,” Mertens said.
The deal makes Osimhen the most expensive signing in the history of the club and the highest transfer deal of the summer so far.
It also becomes an African record transfer fee, €1m more than what Arsenal paid Lille for Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe last summer.
The 21-year-old will wear the No.9 jersey at Napoli next season.
