Federal Lawmaker empowers 200 youths, women with agricultural inputs*

No fewer than 200 persons have benefited from another empowerment programme facilitated by the lawmaker representing Okene/Ogori Magongo  Federal Constituency at the National Assembly

The entrepreneurship programme was organised in Ebira Muslim Community  College (EMCCO)  Town Hall, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, 
The empowerment came a few weeks after 300 women were empowered with N20,000 cash each by the lawmaker. It will be recalled that the lawmaker facilitated the upgrade and expansion of Akokobe Bridge along Cemetery road, which work began last week.

A Federal lawmaker, Tijani ~Ahmed Damisa, representing Okene/Ogori Magongo Federal Constituency in Kogi State, has empowered no fewer than 200 youths and women in Okene and Ogori Magongo Local Government Area  with agricultural inputs such as Chicken, feeds,   feeder,  drinkers

This was done in a startup training course in collaboration with Federal College of Agriculture,  Ibadan and Cocoa  Research  Institute   of  Nigeria  (CRIN)  on poultry farming to reduce unemployment in the Kogi Central zone of the state.

The three-day training programme, which took place in Okene area of the state, was attended by the 200 participants who benefitted from the programme and were trained on modern methods and techniques of poultry and fish farming, snail rearing as well as other farm production.

The representative of the lawmaker in person of Hon. Abdulsalam Ikunaiye explained that Hon. Tijani~Ahmed Damisa  had chosen cash empowerment after due consultation with his constituents, adding that he was sure that it would have direct impact on their small scale businesses.
 
While Hon. Adams Ibrahim Kadoka implored them to use the resources judiciously for the purpose it was meant for, assuring that apart from the ongoing ones, other physical projects would be executed soon.

Another beneficiary from Ogori Magongo LG, who also got the same start-up, pack, said that there couldn’t have been a better way to alleviate people’s suffering at the grassroots than such empowerment programme.
