PDP govs demand justice for slain Kogi woman leader


 THE Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum has demanded justice for the PDP Woman Leader, Salome Abuh, who was burnt alive in her home during the Kogi State governorship election in 2019.

Until her gruesome murder by suspected political thugs, the late politician was the woman leader in Ofu Local Government Area of the state.

The governors also reiterated their call for a decentralized police force with proper checks to check abuse by some governors.

The Director-General of the PDP-GF, CID Maduabum who stood in for the governors at an event organized to mark the second anniversary of Mrs. Abuh’s death, in Abuja, on Thursday.

He said, “We decided to show our presence here because we feel that the impunity as represented by the event that we are commemorating today has continued.

“It has continued because there is no serious response by the government in power to tackle impunity.

“Impunity is perhaps the greatest problem we have in Nigeria. It is because if impunity that we have rampant corruption, because you can do anything and get away with it. Impunity has led to massive bloodshed on a daily basis in Nigeria. People are killed wantonly; people are killed whimsically.”
