He used the opportunity, in his address, to commend the laudable peace project his Excellency has embarked on. He admonished the gathering to be peace loving and be conscious of what is happening around their environment.
It is no iota of doubt that the youthful and energetic
governor is an epitome of peace initiator in Kogi state; for which he (the
Governor) has been commended by President Muhammadu Buhari. It was as a result
of this effort that his party gave him a function concerning the security of
the party. The Governor has received security awards from different
organization.
Honorable Suberu Amoka has been very consistent in praising the
people- oriented policies of the new direction of Yahaya Bello led
administration. He had engaged people in different forums reeling out the
achievements of the governor. Since he took the mettle of leadership, Honorable
Amoka has been up and doing in his responsibility to complement the good work
of Yahaya Bello led administration. In a synergy, he has extended his tentacles
to romance ideas with the security command in his Local government in order to
be thoroughly equipped with the situation on ground. At this effort, the recent
move by the honorable to check the process that is capable of distorting the
relative peace in the land is not unconnected with his information gathering.
Recently why addressing some people, the adviser pointed out the threat posed
to the society by the negative activities of some of the youths in the area that
is capable of influencing evil behaviors. He used the opportunity to send note
of warning to the youths across nuts and crannies of the area to desist from
bad behavior. He further said that the government will continue to exercise
powers to put an end to nefarious activities rocking the land.
The adviser frowned at the negative comments trending in
social media over the disciplinary actions he has taken on the people keeping
abnormal hair styles. According to
him, Ebira
as an ethnic nation does not condone practices and principles that are alien to
both its physiological and cultural way of life. The honorable said that he
will not allow indecency and immorality to eat deep into our social fabric.
He said that some of good laws of personal affairs (I’m talking about
fundamental human right) has been eroded through the prism of immorality. Some people
who are hiding under the cloak of protection of fundamental human right in
encouraging the dreadful way of life are creating harm than good. By keeping
dreadlocks is not a process of creating evil, but it is a destructive pattern
of living that some people see as highly irresponsible.
It is not in intention
of the government (I’m talking about the special adviser on security) to
trample the fundamental right of the people, as the government is operating
with information, which cannot be written here. The public should participate
in preventing what can give back to our society criminal tendency.
Recently, the special adviser led security operations in some
hamlets in Okene local government clamping down on people taking hard drugs.
During the course of the operation, so many destructive drugs and dangerous
items were uncovered.
