2023 DEMOCRACY DAY, OHERE SENDS HIS GOODWILL MESSAGE

The Kogi Central Senator Elect, Engr. Abubakar Sadiku Ohere, FNSE, has sent his goodwill message to the good people of his Senatorial District, Kogi state and Nigeria at large, on the auspicious occasion of the 2023 Democracy Day.

The administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari on June 6, 2018 declared June 12 to be our nation's Democracy Day, in recognition of the historical importance of June 12, 1993 in the democratic journey of our dear country. It moved the date from May 29 to demonstrate the significance of the Day.

According to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, the "theme of this year's Democracy Day is Hope Reassured".

"I joined the entire people of Kogi Central Senatorial District, Kogi state and Nigeria in celebrating this year's Democracy Day."

"Democracy is the best form of government. It makes it possible for the people to choose their leaders and determine how they want to be ruled."

"I would like to use this opportunity to pay tribute to our democratic heroes who have contributed to the entrenchment of civil rule in our country and strengthening of our democracy."

"As we look forward to the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly, I enjoined the people of my constituents to be rest assured that I will not reneged on my promises to prioritize your welfare as your Senator and mouthpiece."

"Let us continue to uphold the tenets of a democratic society."

"Happy Democracy Day!"
