Ohere Throws Full Weight Behind Yahaya Bello's 2027 Senate Bid: Kogi Central Needs Tested Courage Now
My dear friends, brothers, sisters, and loyal supporters,
I greet you with deep gratitude and a full heart. Through every season, loud or quiet, smooth or rough, you have stood with me: firm, principled, and unwavering.
That loyalty is never taken for granted. I thank you sincerely for believing in me, defending me, and trusting my judgment over the years.
Politics tests patience, character, and endurance, but your steadfast support has continually strengthened my resolve.
Today, I speak to you with clarity, calmness, and genuine happiness. I am truly delighted that my mentor, leader, and boss, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, former Governor of Kogi State, has taken the bold decision to contest for the Kogi Central Senatorial District in the 2027 elections.
I understand that this decision may have come as a surprise to many of you, especially given certain expectations. However, leadership is about responsibility, timing, and service to the greater good, not personal sentiment.
We are in a turbulent moment, one that calls for collective involvement, strategic thinking, and unity of purpose.
Politics is ultimately about numbers, inclusion, and consensus-building. It must bring everyone to the table, including those with opposing views. This is not a time for division or narrow interests, but for broad engagement and courageous leadership.
Let me say this without hesitation: Kogi Central needs Alhaji Yahaya Bello at this time. It needs his courage, his political weight, his experience, and his uncommon capacity to confront challenges head-on. This is not just another contest; it is a defining moment that demands tested leadership and the ability to mobilise across divides.
His decision is one I wholeheartedly welcome and proudly support.
As for me, I will deploy all my political weight, structure, and goodwill in support of this cause. I urge you, my trusted supporters, to do the same. Let us close ranks, reach out beyond familiar lines, convince even the sceptical voices, and work together for a greater collective victory.
This is bigger than individual ambition; it is about the future of our people and the stability of our political space.
Let me also be clear: I am not a desperate politician. Opportunities are many, seasons change, and politics is a long journey. I remain confident, calm, and fully prepared for what lies ahead.
I am deeply grateful to Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his mentorship, guidance, and support throughout my political journey, and I will continue to honour that relationship with loyalty and respect.
Stay strong. Stay united. Engage widely. The future remains bright.
Thank you, and may God bless you all.
Senator Abubakar Sadiku Ohere, FNSE
