Rising Concerns Over Loyalty, Credibility, and Capacity to Contest for Party Chairman in Kogi State
Growing apprehension has emerged within party ranks regarding the loyalty, consistency, and overall suitability of Hon. Muhammed Kabir Ajannah for the position of Party Chairman in Kogi State.
Several stakeholders within the party have raised concerns over what they describe as conflicting political engagements that appear inconsistent with the expectations of unwavering party allegiance. Particular attention has been drawn to his reported political alignment and visible support for figures outside the APC structure, including Rotimi Amaechi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, actions viewed by stakeholders as being at variance with loyalty to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC’s leadership direction.
In the same vein, party stakeholders have also cited allegations that Hon. Ajannah openly or tacitly supported Muritala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party during the Kogi State governorship election, in opposition to the officially endorsed APC candidate. Concerned party loyalist argue that such conduct, represents a direct contradiction of party loyalty and raises profound questions about his commitment to collective party decisions, especially at critical electoral moments.
Beyond issues of alignment, discussions within party circles have also referenced persistent allegations surrounding financial conduct during the during Primaries. Among these are claims by some stakeholders that funds allegedly provided for delegate mobilization during the APC presidential primary election, reportedly amounting to ₦100 million and said to have originated from associates of Rotimi Amaechi. Although these claims remain unresolved, their continued prominence in political discourse has intensified scrutiny and heightened concerns regarding accountability, integrity, and leadership readiness.
The office of Party Chairman in Kogi State is not merely ceremonial; it demands unassailable loyalty, proven administrative capacity, sound judgment, and a demonstrable record of placing party unity above personal or factional interests. At a time that calls for cohesion, discipline, and strategic focus, stakeholders insist that anyone aspiring to such a critical leadership position must possess an unquestionable record of consistency and dedication to the party’s collective goals.
As the party moves toward internal restructuring and prepares for future political contests, members continue to emphasize that its stability and electoral strength depend on leadership rooted in credibility, transparency, and steadfast commitment. The prevailing sentiment among concerned stakeholders is clear: the future of the party in Kogi State must be entrusted only to individuals whose loyalty, competence, and capacity to unify the fold are beyond doubt
