Eid Al-Adha: Sen. Ohere Urges Sacrifice, Obedience in Message to Muslims
...He Emphasizes Spirit of Sacrifice and Obedience
Former Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Abubakar Sadiku Ohere, has congratulated Muslims in Kogi Central, Kogi State, and across Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Eid al-Adha, calling on the faithful to embrace the true lessons of sacrifice, obedience, love, and total submission to the will of Allah.
In his Sallah message, Senator Ohere described Eid al-Adha as one of the most significant festivals in Islam, reminding Muslims that the celebration goes beyond festivity and reflects the deep spiritual lesson demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose unwavering obedience to Allah led him to accept the divine instruction to sacrifice his beloved son before Allah, in His mercy, exchanged the sacrifice with a ram.
According to him, the season serves as a reminder that true faith demands sacrifice, patience, humility, and complete trust in Allah’s plans.
He urged Muslims and all citizens to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, compassion, tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and commitment to humanity, stressing that the essence of Eid lies not only in celebration but in the willingness to make sacrifices for family, community, and national development.
Senator Ohere prayed that Allah accepts the sacrifices, prayers, and acts of worship performed during the holy season and grants abundant mercy, forgiveness, divine favour, and lasting peace to all faithful.
He further appreciated the people of Kogi Central for their continuous support, prayers, and goodwill over the years, assuring them of his unwavering commitment towards the progress, unity, and development of the Senatorial District.
Senator Ohere prayed for sustained peace, harmony, prosperity, and progress across Kogi State and Nigeria, while wishing Muslim faithful a joyous, peaceful, and spiritually rewarding Eid celebration.
“May the spirit of sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) continue to inspire us all to place faith above fear, service above self, and unity above division.”
Eid Mubarak!
