The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State, as the 50th state university in Nigeria.
Executive Secretary of the Commission, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, who announced the approval of the university on Tuesday in Abuja, during a visit by Governor Yahaya Bello, said the specialised institution will be a propeller for a rapid development in the country.
He lauded the governor for his commitment to education development and assured of support for the university.
On his part, Bello, who expressed delight for the approval, said the new university “is a dream come true for us, for the youths, for the good people and even for the bad people of Kogi State.”
