HON. OHIARE INTERVENED IN THE ALLEGED HERDSMEN INVASION AND RAMPAGE ON FARMLANDS IN IHIMA.
In Okehi Local Government today, the lingering disputes between the Fulani herdsmen and Farmers in Ihima were laid to rest through the peace and conflict resolution propensity of the Council Chairman of Okehi Local Government, Hon. Abdulraheem Ozovehe Ohiare.
The report had it that, as of recently, herdsmen's unlawful destruction of farmland within their grazing areas has taken another worst dimension.
Their destructive invasion is no more limited to cows again, but a deliberate rampage and theft on the matured crops among the herdsmen.
The new twist has caused a monumental loss to the expected yields to the affected farmers in Ihima, which triggered the reported apprehensive action by the farmers after several reports to the community heads.
But all smiles home today, when the God's chosen Chief security officer of Okehi LGA, Hon. Ohiare settled the disputes convincingly where the opposing parties honoured the Council Chairman's resolution prowess.
Meanwhile, an MoU was established between the herders and the farmer which is capable of preventing further occurrence of such invasion.
Both parties appreciates the Council Chairman's resolution on the matter and promised to abide by the settlement in entirety.
