Hon. Abdulhameed Ataba Oporo Resigns from APC Over Alleged Candidate Imposition
Hon. Abdulhameed Ataba Oporo has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bariki Ward, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.
In his resignation letter addressed to the ward chairman, Oporo stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with his supporters, associates, and political family. He cited the alleged imposition of a candidate by “a selected few individuals” as the major reason for leaving the party.
According to him, the action goes against democratic principles of fairness, transparency, and popular participation, which he believes the party should uphold.
Oporo further noted that, as a committed democrat who believes strongly in justice, equity, and the collective will of the people, it had become difficult for him to remain in a system where the voices and aspirations of loyal party members are allegedly ignored.
Despite his decision to exit the APC, he appreciated members of the party for their support and cooperation during his time with the party and wished the APC success in its future political engagements.
Singed:
Hon. Abdulhameed Ataba Oporo
